How to use DataRow COPY Wizard to import data into Amazon Redshift

With the COPY Command Wizard in DataRow, prepare your COPY function in just six steps and run it right away! If you wish, save the preferences to run it later.

DataRow's COPY Command Wizard lets you perform the function in a faster and easier way. Alternatively, you can prepare the function for later use. First of all, you need to create a re-usable COPY configurations to load data into an Amazon Redshift table from data files or Amazon Dynamo DB table.

  1. Sign in to DataRow
  2. Select Copy/Unload tab from the left menu.
  3. Click Create a COPY Configuration button.
  4. Give a Configuration Name to the LOAD configuration.
  5. Select the data source: Amazon S3, Amazon EMR, Remote Host (SSH), or Amazon Dynamo DB.
  6. Continue with the guide that will change according to the data source you choose.

Copy Data from Amazon S3 to Amazon Redshift

  1. Open the COPY Command Wizard, give a name to your configuration and select Amazon S3.
  2. Enter the S3 URL.
  3. Check the checkbox if it's a manifest file.
  4. Check the checkbox if it's encrypted, and enter the Master Symmetric Key.
  5. Select the data source region from the dropdown menu.
  6. Select the target table from the dropdown menu.
  7. Click Next to continue.
  8. Configure the File Type Options and click Next.
  9. Define the Authorization method and enter the related credentials.
  10. Choose the Conversion Options by clicking the related checkboxes. (Click the checkbox at the right of the search bar to See Conversion Options Descriptions.)
  11. Click Next to continue.
  12. Choose the Load Options by clicking the related checkboxes. (Click the checkbox at the right of the search bar to see Conversion Options Descriptions.)
  13. Click Run to perform the function immediately, or click Save Configuration to run later.

Copy Data from Amazon EMR to Amazon Redshift

  1. Open the COPY Command Wizard, give a name to your configuration and select Amazon EMR.
  2. Enter the EMR URL.
  3. Select the data source region from the dropdown menu.
  4. Click Next to continue.
  5. Configure the File Type Options and click Next.
  6. Define the Authorization method and enter the related credentials.
  7. Click Next to continue.
  8. Choose the Conversion Options by clicking the related checkboxes. (Click the checkbox at the right of the search bar to See Conversion Options Descriptions.)
  9. Click Next to continue.

Copy Data from Remote Host (SSH) to Amazon Redshift

  1. Open the COPY Command Wizard, give a name to your configuration and select Remote Host (SSH).
  2. Enter the Manifest File URL.
  3. Select the data source region from the dropdown menu.
  4. Select the target table from the dropdown menu.
  5. Click Next to continue.
  6. Configure the File Type Options and click Next.
  7. Define the Authorization method and enter the related credentials.
  8. Click Next to continue.

  10. Click Next to continue.

  1. Open the COPY Command Wizard, give a name to your configuration and select Amazon Dynamo DB.
  2. Enter the Dynamo DB URL.
  3. Select the Read Ratio by adjusting the slider.
  4. Select the data source region from the dropdown menu.
  5. Select the target table from the dropdown menu.
  6. Click Next to continue.
  7. Define the Authorization method and enter the related credentials.
  8. Click Next to continue.

  10. Click Next to continue.
